Hey friends welcome to my blog "Chordiant Space". As the name suggests this blog is entirely dedicated to Chordaint, its various tools and to its users. This blog mainly focuses on chordiant tools such as CFS, CDM, CMD, Chordiant Teller and Chordiant Rules Designer to the best of my knowledge. I request all of you to provide your valuable suggestions, feedback and contribute to the blog to make it more useful to all of us.
The next point is to setup and configure the CDM. Now I will divide it into two different modules.

Prerequisites for CDM
Here you will learn the installation of prerequisites for CDM such as a database server and an application server. And additionally you will need Subversion (SVN) to maintain the decisioning repository.
CDM 6.1 supports the following databases as of now
Cx VBD is a new business simulation application from Chordiant.
Release date: 7th April 2009.
Cx VBD provides real-time visibility into the actual and potential success of customer interaction strategies.
Cx VBD allows business users to simulate and test the potential business impact of customer strategies before putting them into production and to monitor and control strategy performance companywide or in any part of the business in realtime.
SVN is used as a version control tool to maintain decisioning repository. Currently Chordiant supports SVN version 1.4.2 or 1.4.5.
Decisioin Planner is a tool provided with CDM that is used to access the decisioning repository at design time.
The decisioning repository is accessed at run time from Deployment Manager.
Strategy Director is a logic designing tool that comes with CDM. You design your business logic in SD and using DP it will be commited to SVN repository.
Deployment Manager is used as a gate keeping tool. The decision logic from repository can be deployed using DM. In order to access it through Recommendation advisor, a Real Time Decision project will be deployed. In the similar way a batch logic will be deployed and can be accessed using the CMD.
The next question that will obviously come to your mind is, to know who all really use CDM. Guys I have a list of few customers for Chordiant Decision Management.

In order to work with CDM you will need some of the additional tools such a an application server, database server and a repository or version control tool. Here is the list of the tools recommended by the Chordiant. It is not a must have, you can try with other versions of the tools as well, but that will require additional R&D at your end. So my suggestion is to better stay with the tech stack recommended by Chordiant.

Other than above mentioned tools you will require Subversion (SVN) 1.4.2 or 1.4.5, for version control. SVN is an open source that can be downloaded from their website. SVN will work as repository server and to access it you will further need SVN client tools such as Tortoise.
Chordiant decision management in short CDM, is a suite of business applications which drive intelligent customer interactions. It is a part of chordinat customer experience solutions and services. It combines perdictions of likely customer behaviors with business rules for customer experience strategies.
